Lincoln Preparatory School's highest priority is the health, safety and well-being of our students and staff. We closely monitor the COVID-19 situation and take guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Louisiana Department of Health.

Masks

    • Masks are “optional” for students and adults on all buses and while on school campuses 
    • Masks are “optional” for all visitors in schools 
Deciding When to Stay Home
    • Students who are ill should stay home regardless of symptoms 
    • Students with a fever of 100.4 are required to stay home or be picked up from school. 

Social Distancing is recommended to the greatest extent possible.

Positive Results or Having Symptoms (Both Vaccinated and Unvaccinated individuals)

    • Students and employees should isolate at home for 5 days upon testing positive for COVID-19 
          • Day 1 is the actual test date or the first full day after your symptoms started 
          • Symptoms must have improved and no fever for 24 hours before returning on day 6 
          • Masks must be worn on days 6-10 
    • Untested symptomatic students and employees (when other family member(s) in the home is/are positive for COVID-19), should isolate for 5 days and return with a mask on days 6-10 if symptoms have improved and no fever has been present for 24 hours. Day 1 should be the test date of the family member who tested positive 
Quarantine for Exposures to COVID-19
    • Students and employees are not required to quarantine but must wear a mask for 10 days 
    • Recommendation is COVID-19 test after 5 days and to wear a mask immediately following the exposure 

Other information

    • Vaccinations and boosters are “highly” recommended. 
    • Google Classroom should be updated weekly for students to follow when absent. 
    • Nurses or school administrators should be informed of positive cases and exposures. 
    • Students and employees should sanitize often during the day. 
    • High touch areas will continued to be sanitized throughout the day.
